I am a specialist haematologist with extensive training and experience in both clinical and laboratory haematology. I am warm, compassionate and keen to assist you along your haematological journey from diagnosis through to treatment. I will help you to understand your blood disease, which you may find overwhelming and difficult to comprehend, and I can be trusted to offer you the best treatment for your situation in line with the latest available medical evidence. I consult at the St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney Campus (including The Kinghorn Cancer Centre and St Vincent’s Clinic) and also at Northern Beaches Hospital.

I hold fellowships with both the RACP (Royal Australasian College of Physicians) and the RCPA (Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia) and belong to various professional societies and interest groups. I hold a medical degree and Masters degree, and am currently a lecturer at the St Vincent’s Clinical School (part of the University of NSW).

I believe strongly in collaboration with experts to make the best possible treatment decisions for your condition and frequently participate in multidisciplinary meetings with my colleagues.

I am passionate about providing quality healthcare to everyone and am very interested in rural medicine. I am also committed to research and teaching.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Currently a lecturer at the St Vincent’s Clinical School (University of NSW) and participate in teaching and examining medical students, physician doctors and trainee specialist haematologists

  • Completed specialist training in both clinical and laboratory haematology (2015)

  • Completed clinical training in haematology where I treated patients with a variety of blood conditions (2015)

  • Completed a Master of Philosophy (Medicine) through the University of Sydney and wrote a research thesis investigating obstetric blood transfusion practice in NSW maternity hospitals (2014-2015).

  • Ran haematology clinics in rural NSW (Griffith, Wagga Wagga and the Shoalhaven regions) (2011-2023)

  • Completed a prestigious Bone Marrow Transplant Fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital where I gained extensive experience in bone marrow transplant (2014)

  • Completed 2 years of laboratory training where I gained experience in performing and interpreting a variety of laboratory tests important for the diagnosis and treatment of blood conditions (2011-2012)

  • Studied medicine at the University of NSW and graduated with Honours (2005)

  • Worked in rural communities in Western Australia and with Aboriginal communities near Katherine in the Northern Territory (2004).

  • Malignant haematology including blood cancers (leukaemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma), and bone marrow failure syndromes (myelodysplasia)
